Best of Brass with Wigan Youth Brass Band
Venue: St. George's Church, Tyldesley
St George’s Church Tyldesley will be hosting Wigan Youth Brass Band and The Longridge Band in an afternoon of music making which is guaranteed to impress and entertain.
WYBB is regarded as one of the country’s leading youth brass bands and has performed at famous venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Northern College of Music and Symphony Hall in Birmingham in the past.
The concert was the idea of our conductor Mark Peacock:
“St George’s had asked me to bring Longridge Band to Tyldesley and I was keen to help WYBB raise much needed funds for their tour to Spain this Summer. A joint concert was the obvious solution. There are numerous connections between the two bands with many past and present members playing in both ensembles. Notably, the Head of Wigan Council Music Service (and conductor of WYBB) Dave Little started his own musical journey with the Longridge Band when he was 8 years old!”
It will be a wonderful afternoon of music making with a wide and varied programme for all tastes.
Tickets priced at £8 and free entrance to students 16 and under.
Tickets available on the door.
Please note the start time of 4PM for this concert.
